Graduation Requirements

NJ State Minimum Graduation Requirements K12Kidz Academy offers a comprehensive high school curriculum.  This means that while there are certain courses required for graduation for all students, many of the subjects are elected by the student.  To a large extent the courses selected determine the type of post-high school opportunities available to the student.  New Jersey mandates a minimum of 120 credits for graduation.
Course and credit requirements for all students entering grade 9 in:
2012-2013 2013-2014 2014-2015 2015-2016
LANGUAGE ARTS LITERACY 20 credits aligned to grade 9 through 12 standards
MATHEMATICS
15 credits
(including Algebra I, Geometry)
SCIENCE
15 credits
(including Lab Biology;
Lab Chemistry and/or Physics and/or Environmental Science;
plus a third laboratory/inquiry-based science)
SOCIAL STUDIES
15 credits
(including Modern World History/Geography, U.S. History I & II)
FINANCIAL, ECONOMIC BUSINESS, AND ENTREPRENEURIAL LITERACY 2.5 credits
HEALTH, SAFETY, AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION** 3.75 credits in health, safety and physical education during each year of enrollment, distributed as 150  minutes per week, as required by N.J.S.A. 18A:35-5, 7 and 8
WORLD  LANGUAGES 5 credits
VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS 5 credits
21ST CENTURY LIFE AND CAREERS or CAREER-TECHNICAL EDUCATION 5 credits
ELECTIVES 15
TOTAL CREDITS  (State Minimum) 120
** Physical Education will be given credit as long as proper records are kept and attendance is documented by a coach, teacher, instructor of the given program. It just meet NJ ‘s mandatory 150 minutes per week of activity.
